3D Scanners (UK) Ltd are pleased to announce that they have been appointed by InnovMetric Software Inc. as their Master Distributor in the UK & Ireland manufacturing markets, for PolyWorks® - InnovMetrics leading point cloud based inspection and reverse-engineering software solution.

"PolyWorks marketing in the UK has always primarily been done through bundled resellers who successfully distribute PolyWorks along with their respective 3D scanning equipment", said Marc Boulanger, Director of Worldwide Sales at InnovMetric Software. " However, as the market gets bigger and more mature, there is now a strong need to add a 'hardware-neutral' partner as a Master Distributor to cover the more 'software driven' accounts", he continued. "3D Scanners (UK) also bring their vast experience in reverse engineering to the table".
Nik added "The development of this opportunity will inevitably lead to some other changes in our business going forward. In future it is important that the Bureau scanning service we offer our customers is very much hardware neutral as the PolyWorks software can work equally effectively with a wide range of 3D scanning equipment. Consequently we are pleased to have reached an amicable understanding with Metris UK that allows us to withdraw from our arrangement to sell ModelMaker scanning systems in the UK. This will allow Metris to take in-house, the responsibility for marketing these systems following their recent acquisition of 3D Scanners Ltd (a company not related to 3D Scanners (UK) Ltd) who previously designed and produced the ModelMaker system."
Nik concluded, "Importantly, this decision to not sell hardware will enable us to establish independence from any one 3D scanning equipment manufacturer. This freedom will allow us to demonstrate the benefits of PolyWorks unrivalled point cloud processing tools across a range of equipment manufacturers, rather than just one, as has been the case in the past. Over time this will also allow us to expand our Bureau service whilst at the same time marketing and supporting the PolyWorks solution to those customers who already have, or are considering the acquisition of their own 3D scanning systems."
